This book is a detailed developmental history of all the midget submarines employed during the Second World War. Midget submarines, regardless of nationality, can be broadly divided into trhee groups: human torpedoes such as the British Chariot and Italian Maiales; true midget submarines such as the Bristish X-Craft and the Japanese Ko-Hyoteki; and last, the suicidal machines wich, either by accident or intent, were as lethal to their operators as they were to the enemy. These includes the German Neger and the Japanese Kaiten and its derivatives. There are two large-scale, fold-out modellers' plans of the British X-Craft and the German Seehund.
